Fourth Wing Cast: Everything we know so far as Esther McGregor and Emilio Sakraya cast in Fourth Wing TV series

The Prime Video adaptation of Rebbeca Yarros’ bestselling fantasy series Fourth Wing has cast Esther McGregor as Violet Sorrengail and Emilio Sakraya as Xaden Riorson.
The upcoming television adaptation of Fourth Wing has found its two leads in Emilio Sakraya and Esther McGregor.
Based on Rebecca Yarros’ bestselling romantasy book, McGregor - the daughter of Scottish actor Ewan McGregor - has been cast as Violet Sorrengail, with Sakraya to play Xaden Riorson, according to sources such as Variety and Deadline.
The Prime Video show is set in Yarros’ fantasy world, which follows Violet as she enters the brutal Basgiath War College at the behest of her mother. Despite being well on her way to becoming a historian, instead she joins hundreds of candidates fighting to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.
The hazardous training programme sees her collide with the mysterious and brooding Xaden. But with more cadets than dragons, there is just one rule at the War College: graduate or die.

What do we know about the Prime Video series so far?
Fourth Wing is the first book in The Empyrean series and is followed by Iron Flame and Onyx Storm. Yarros published novella Threshing Day, which tells 13 stories within the universe, earlier this year. Books four and five have also been confirmed, though there have been no title or release date announcements so far.
Amazon MGM bought the rights for TV development of the show in 2023, but only officially greenlit the project in May. If the first series is successful, there are plans to adapt the rest of the novels across multiple seasons.
Fourth Wing is being produced by Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society, Premeditated Productions and Jonathan Nolan and Joy’s Kilter Films. Author Yarros is attached as an executive producer, with Meredith Averill to serve as as writer and showrunner.
