Celtic’s Champions League journey continues this evening as they head to the Midlands to face Aston Villa in their final League Phase game.
A last 16 play-off spot has already been secured thanks to last week’s 1-0 win over Young Boys, however, Brendan Rodgers’ side could still qualify for the knockouts automatically if other results go their way tonight, and they pick up a win at Villa Park.
Several players have turned out for both clubs, with the last player transferred between Celtic and Aston Villa being current Hoops goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo, who switched clubs in July last year. However, the success rate of players transferred between the club ranges from sublime to the ridiculous, with club legends, cult heroes, TV hosts, constructions workers and completely forgettable signings all included.
But how many of these 19 players that have featured for both clubs can you remember?

13. Roy Aitken
A six time title winner with Celtic, Aitken played over 450 games for the Glasgow giants during a supremely successful time at the club. Capped 57 times by Scotland, he featured at both the 1986 and 1990 World Cups, captaining the national side at the latter. 14. Martin O'Neill
While he never played for either club, he successfully managed both during his coaching career. The Northern Irishman lead Celtic to three titles, three Scottish Cups, a Scottish League Cup and was a UEFA Cup runner-up in 2003, before departing to Aston Villa, where he achieved a 42.11 win ratio during his spell in the Midlands. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group Bill Murray

15. Didier Agathe
A true Celtic cult hero, Agathe was signed for just £30,000 and went on to play for the club for five and a half years, winning multiple league titles and cups. Agathe's status as a cult hero was enhanced by the fact he played with no cartilage in his right knee. Part of the squad that made it to the 2003 UEFA Cup final. 16. Evan Williams
The Scottish goalkeeper made 82 league appearances between 1969 and 1973 for Celtic, and was named man of the match in the 1970 European Cup Final defeat to Feyenoord. Prior to his move to the east end of Glasgow, Williams had a 12 game loan spell with Aston Villa. | SNS Group 0141 221 3602 Photo: SNS Group
