The first teaser for Netflix’s adaptation of Pride and Prejudice has been released in cinemas.
No words are spoken in the short trailer, which was shown ahead of screenings of Wuthering Heights over the weekend. It opens on Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet, looking out over the countryside, with fans given their first official look at Jack Lowden as Mr Darcy.
The Scottish actor can be seen atop a horse in front of a stately home, looking characteristically grim, with the end of the teaser revealing that the six-part miniseries is due to arrive on Netflix this autumn.
With a script from bestselling author Dolly Alderton, the latest adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved novel has an all star cast including Academy Award–winner Olivia Colman, who will play Mrs Bennet.
Also set to appear are Rufus Sewell, Freya Mavor, Jamie Demetriou, Daryl McCormack, Rhea Norwood, Siena Kelly, and Louis Partridge.
