It’s nearly time for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to take over the theatres, gyms, hotels, streets and pubs of Scotland’s Capital.
Taking place from August 2-26 (although there are previews in the days running up to the official launch), there are over 3,500 shows taking place, from comedy and music, to theatre and spoken word.
In recent years circus has become a bigger part of the Fringe than ever - thanks in no small part to the Underbelly establishing a Circus Hub on the city’s Meadows.
Here are 10 of the most eye-catching circus shows you can enjoy this August.

9. N.Ormes
Described as "provocative, dysfunctional and tender", 'N.Ormes' is a circus show with something to say. A mix of acrobatics and dance that challenges gender norms, it follows "two protagonists and their relationship, navigating between complicity and power struggles". See why it's won several awards at Assembly Roxy from July 31-August 25. | Contributed

10. Circolombia: Corazón
All he way from South America to Scotland, 'Circolombia: Corazón' is a world premiere designed for the unique surroundings of the Palais du Variete Spiegeltent in Assembly George Square Gardens. It's billed as a "fun-fuelled circus concert, packed with breathless feats, gravity-defying performance and infectious music where you, the audience, are taken right into their beating Latin hearts". Sounds fun! It's on from August 1-25. | Contributed
