It was a contrasting end to the campaign for both Rangers and Celtic, as the Hoops rode off into the sunset with a domestic double to leave Philippe Clement’s Gers contemplating a summer of change.
However, despite Celtic’s success, both sides are likely to be busy this summer, with the Hoops targeting reinforcements due to Joe Hart’s retirement and the potential departure of the sought-after Matt O’Riley.
Money will be spent this summer, of that there is no doubt, but could both Rangers and Celtic save themselves some coin by scouring the free agent market? We look at 11 out of contract players that could be useful additions to both Old Firm sides.

9. Kasper Schmeichel - Anderlecht
A title winner with Leicester City, Schmeichel has spent the last year in Europe with Anderlecht. Following a difficult spell with Nice, the Danish No 1 has played regular football for the Belgian giants, finishing second in the Pro-League. With Celtic on the lookout for a replacement for the retiring Joe Hart, the 37-year-old Dane could prove to be a solid choice between the sticks. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

10. Connor Barron - Aberdeen
Scotland youth international Barron was chased by Swansea City in the January window after impressing in the Dons engine room. Could he make the step up? The same doubts were cast on Lewis Ferguson when he was linked to Rangers and he is doing pretty well at Bologna" While compensation would be due via tribunal, Barron is another low-risk, high-reward signing. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

11. Cedric Kipre - West Bromwich Albion
Kipre was Albion’s player of the season as they finished fifth in the English Championship this year. Still just 27, he has Scottish Premiership experience after an outstanding spell with Motherwell in 2017/2018. Due to his performances, he has been offered a new deal by the Baggies. Could Celtic or Rangers tempt him to make the move north again though before he signs it though? | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images
