Between them, Celtic and Rangers have won 23 Scottish Premiership titles, 17 Scottish Cups, 18 League Cups and both have made the final of the UEFA Cup since the turn of the century - as well as Rangers’ recent run to the Europa League final.
Yes, there’s been some dark days for both Old Firm sides in the past 24 years but also the abundance of quality, talent and skill that have walked in and out of the doors is almost unprecedented. Both sides of the divide have their favourites - but which players would make the ultimate Old Firm XI?
What do you think is the best combined Old Firm starting XI since the turn of the century? Do you agree with our picks?

5. LB: Kieran Tierney
This was a tough one to choose. Scotland international Tierney was a massive success at Celtic Park and a true fans' favourite. Rangers' Arthur Numan is another name that could easily take this position but, in the end, we made the decision based on who won the most Scottish Premiership titles and Tierney beats Numan by four to three. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

6. CM: Barry Ferguson
There's many Rangers fans that would class Ferguson as the best Gers player of the 21st century. He won 16 trophies over two spells at Ibrox and was twice named the SFWA Player of the Year. He has to be included. | SNS Group 0141 221 3602 Photo: SNS Group

7. CM: Scott Brown
He enjoyed a pretty successful record in the Old Firm derbies against Rangers but more importantly, Brown led his side to 22 trophies and won PFA Scotland Players' Player of the Year twice during his time in the Hoops. | Alan Harvey - SNS Group Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group

8. CM: Callum McGregor
An astonishing 20 trophies in his cabinet, McGregor has won it all at Celtic and continue to be huge presence for both club and country. He completes our midfield three. | Craig Foy - SNS Group Photo: Craig Foy - SNS Group
