Celtic hopes of qualifying for the last 16 of the Champions League hang in the balance after losing 2-1 to Bayern Munich in the first leg of their playoff tie at Celtic Park.
An electric atmosphere welcomed the two teams on to the pitch just before 8pm, and the roof almost came off when the home fans thought they had a shock first minute lead via Nicolas Kuhn, whose shot was deflected into the net to send the crowd into raptures, only for it to be chalked off due to Adam Idah being in an offside position
Bayern Munich’s game of death by possession finally paid off on the stroke of half-time via a thunderous Michael Olise goal, before Harry Kane’s acrobatic finish doubled their lead on 49 minutes. However, a late goal from Daizen Maeda handed Celtic a glimmer of hope with when he scrambled over the line on 80 minutes.
The teams will meet again at the Allianz Arena in Munich for the second-leg next Tuesday.

9. Nicolas Kuhn - 6
Almost burst my eardrums with the first minute 'goal' that sent the crowd wild - only for it be disallowed. Looked like Celtic's most dangerous player on the attack, but on a night for defensive graft, he wasn't allowed much time to get at Bayern and faded in the second-half. 10. Daizen Maeda - 7
A poor pass early on almost allowed Bayern in on the break. Grew into the game as it wore on, and managed stretch his legs against Laimer a couple of times, and gave him something to think about. Grabbed a vital late goal that will give Celtic something to take to the Allianz Arena next week. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

11. Adam Idah - 5
Helped get Celtic up the pitch at times, and tried to hold the ball when he could, but he was often left chasing Bayern's two centre-backs. Taken off just after the hour mark for Jota. | PA Photo: PA

12. Substitutes
Jota - 6 (came on for Idah with 25 minutes to go and aided Celtic's attack, with Maeda going more central) Jeffrey Schlupp - 5 (replaced Taylor and lost the ball a couple of times immediately. Shaky) Hyun-Jun Yang - N/A (late sub for Kuhn on 80 minutes) | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group
