Celtic hopes of qualifying for the last 16 of the Champions League hang in the balance after losing 2-1 to Bayern Munich in the first leg of their playoff tie at Celtic Park.
An electric atmosphere welcomed the two teams on to the pitch just before 8pm, and the roof almost came off when the home fans thought they had a shock first minute lead via Nicolas Kuhn, whose shot was deflected into the net to send the crowd into raptures, only for it to be chalked off due to Adam Idah being in an offside position
Bayern Munich’s game of death by possession finally paid off on the stroke of half-time via a thunderous Michael Olise goal, before Harry Kane’s acrobatic finish doubled their lead on 49 minutes. However, a late goal from Daizen Maeda handed Celtic a glimmer of hope with when he scrambled over the line on 80 minutes.
The teams will meet again at the Allianz Arena in Munich for the second-leg next Tuesday.
Here is how The Scotsman rated each player out of 10 for their display at Celtic Park:

5. Greg Taylor - 5
Nice interception helped Celtic get forward in the first-half. Had a tough old night dealing with Olise though, who was outstanding. He'll have easier nights, but he was outclassed by the Frenchman. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

6. Callum McGregor - 7
Finished the game with a 98% passing accuracy, and did not misplace a pass until the third minute of injury time. Vital to Celtic, who needed to use the ball well when they got it. Just continues to show his maturity in the biggest of games, even when the odds were stacked against him with the opposition's star studded midfield this evening. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

7. Reo Hatate - 5
A little wasteful with the ball at times and often muscled out as Bayern played a game of death by possession at points. Not his finest night. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

8. Arne Engels - 6
The most physical of Celtic's midfield three, he battled as best as he could, but was often drowned out. Used the ball well and kept things simple for the home side, but simply couldn't get on the ball enough. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group
