A new teaser for the Great British Bake Off has given fans their first look at Nigella Lawson alongside her co-stars.

The new season of the baking competition is due to premiere on Channel 4 next month, with the 66-year-old TV cook appearing alongside her fellow judge Paul Hollywood and presenters Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond.

Lawson replaces Dame Prue Leith, who stepped back from the show following the end of series 16 which was won by Scottish contestant Jasmine Mitchell.

In the trailer, which was released on Tuesday (August 25), Hollywood wields a fork while approaching the camera. He is then joined by Fielding and then Hammond, with Lawson making her presence known just before a graphic which reads “the bake is back” flashes with various bright colours.

Lawson was pictured alongside her co-stars for the first time earlier this month, with her Bake Off debut coming during series 17 of the show. She follows in the footsteps of Dame Prue who replaced Dame Mary Berry in 2017 following the show’s move from the BBC to Channel 4.

In a post on social media, Lawson wrote: “I’m a bit nervous, very excited, and extremely happy: Bake Off is back on our screens next month! I’ve loved every minute. It’s a real honour to be part of something so special.”

She went on to thank Hollywood, Hammond and Fielding, adding: “You three plus cake: talk about the dream job!”
