Gallery’s Kiss misses mark

THE long-awaited arrival of Rodin’s famous sculpture – The Kiss – at the National Galleries of Scotland at the weekend did not go as planned.

The marble sculpture of two lovers in a passionate embrace was due to be unveiled on Saturday but failed to make an appearance.

Initially the gallery said the wrong date for the unveiling had been announced. But sources claimed the plinth to stand it on was too big to get through the gallery’s doors.
