Popular destinations such as Butlins and Pontins have been named among the UK’s worst holiday parks, according to new research.
A new survey by consumer organisation Which? found that big name holiday parks fared worse than smaller brands such as Potters Resorts, which was named best in the UK.
Meanwhile, the best holiday park in Scotland belongs to Forest Holidays which has three locations in Argyll, Peebles and Stirling.
More than 1,700 consumers were asked to rate their visits to holiday parks on factors such as price per night, value for money and more. Potters Resorts, the best performing brand, scored 87% while Pontins, the worst performing brand, was given just 56%.

1. Potters Resorts – 87%
Operating two all-inclusive resorts in Essex and Norfolk, Potters Resorts was the brand with the best reviews from customers, with four stars for the quality of accommodation, cleanliness, overall customer service, communication and quality of facilities and activities. | Potters Restorts

2. Forest Holidays – 80%
However, Forest Holidays run the best holiday park in Scotland with a rating of 80%. The brand has three holiday parks in the country; Artgardtan in Argyll, Glentress Forest in Peebles and Strathyre in Stirlingshire. They are also a Which? recommended provider. | Paul Box

3. Bluestone Wales – 77%
Rated 77% by customers, this Welsh holiday resort came in joint third. Bluestone stood out for the quality of its accommodation and facilities. | Bluestone Wales

4. John Fowler Holiday Parks – 77%
With resorts in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Wales, John Fowler Holiday Parks are among the top resorts in the UK, with a 77% customer score. | Tim - stock.adobe.com
