Fantasy Rugby Six Nations 2020 tips: the 15 players to include in your squad

From Hamish Watson to Owen Farrell, these are the players we think you should include in your Six Nations Fantasy squad

The 2020 Six Nations is almost upon us which means it's nearly time for legions of rugby union fans to begin plotting their route to victory in the tournament's official fantasy rugby league.

Building a team of points scorers within budget to triumph over friends and colleagues is no easy feat, with players such as Stuart Hogg and Owen Farrell costing a pretty penny.

To get you started we've rounded up a list of 15 players that we believe will make an impact at he 2020 tournament and who should, at the very least, be considered for inclusion in your Six Nations 2020 fantasy squad.

Here are the players who made the cut.

1. Tadhg Furlong, Ireland

New Ireland coach Andy Farrell will be keen to put his own stamp on an Irish side who struggled to make an impact at the 2019 Rugby World Cup. One player who will almost certainly retain his position in the starting XV, however, is Tadhg Furlong who started every game of the 2019 Six Nations. The prop also demonstrated his try-scoring ability at the 2019 World Cup, managing two tries, one against Scotland and another against Samoa.

2. Ken Owens, Wales

A firm favourite in the number two slot at Wales, Ken Owens should feature for the majority of the 2020 Six Nations. The British and Irish Lion has three tries to name in his Wales career and is one of the few hookers not fighting for their position this tournament.

3. Kyle Sinckler, England

England crumbled following Kyle Sinckler's departure from the front row at the Rugby World Cup final, so important is the bruising forward to their pack. The tenacious prop scored a first international try at the Japan tournament, during England's crushing 40-16 victory over Australia.

4. James Ryan, Ireland

Impressive at the 2019 tournament, James Ryan made 34 gainline successes, more than double that of the next second row Federico Ruzza. Aged just 23-years-old, Ryan already has three international tries and if Ireland can get a strong foothold at the 2020 tournament Ryan could be set for a big tournament.

5. Alun Wyn Jones, Wales

Wales' Mr Consistency has improved with age, proving key to the Welsh's Six Nations triumph and their World Cup run. In four games - he was rested for the Italy fixture 0 Alun Wyn Jones made 71 tackles for his country and was named player of the tournament for his relentless efforts.

6. Hamish Watson, Scotland

The Edinburgh star's Rugby World Cup was cruelly cut short when he suffered a knee injury against Ireland. Now, the flanker is back to full fitness and he should feature in the majority of Scotland's fixtures. When he starts the 28-year-old consistently charts top of the tackling charts.

7. Tom Curry, England

Curry made more tackles (86) than any other player at the 2019 tournament and also ran in two tries for England. Curry could well deputise for the injured Billy Vunipola at the tournament, but that shouldn't hinder his ability to rack up points for Fantasy Six Nations players.

8. CJ Stander, Ireland

Like Furlong, Stander should be at the forefront of Andy Farrell's plans for Ireland. The number 8 has accumulated 10 tries in 38 appearances for the 2018 champions and could well add to his tally at the 2020 tournament.

9. Antoine Dupont, France

Touted as France's great hope in French Rugby, Antoine Dupont has already shown glimpses of star quality for Les Bleus, scoring four tries in 2019. The scrum-half started three of five fixtures at the 2019 tournament and was hugely impressive when introduced after 50 minutes against England, breaking the opposition line on three occasions.

10. Tommaso Allan, Italy

Italian players will be overlooked for the most part by Fantasy Six Nations managers, due to their reputation as whipping boys, but Tommaso Allan represent a great value option at number 10. The fly-half scored 34 points at the 2019 tournament, the third most by any player.

11. Jacob Stockdale, Ireland

Aged just 23, Jacob Stockdale already has nine Six Nations tries to his name and 16 tries in his international career. Fantasy managers who put trust in the flying winger could be rewarded with huge points hauls should the flying winger replicate his form of 2018.

12. Owen Farrell, England

The 2019 tournaments top point scorer could prove to be the most popular player among Fantasy Six Nations managers. A guaranteed starter and a guaranteed points scorer mean that the Saracens man won't come cheap, however.

13. Manu Tuilagi, England

The scorer of a match-winning try against New Zealand at he Rugby World Cup sealed Manu Tuilagi's reputation as an elite centre. A perpetual starter at he 2019 tournament, Tuilagi should retain his position as England's starting number 13 at the upcoming tournament.

14. Josh Adams, Wales

Two Welsh players played every minute of the 2019 Six NAtions tournament: Josh Adams and Jonathan Davies. With the latter ruled out, Fantasy Six Nations managers should prioritise including Adams in their lineup. The winger managed nine clean line breaks at last years tournament and scored three tries for Wales on the way to their tournament triumph.

15. Stuart Hogg, Scotland

Handed the captain's armband, few players get fans on the edge of their seats as Scotland's swashbuckling full-back. Inconsistent at the 2019 tournament, Hogg should be installed with confidence following his new role and will be keen to add to his tally of 12 Six Nations tries.
