Scottish transfer deadline day

DONE DEAL: Queen's Park coup

Queen’s Park head coach Callum Davidson feels he has pulled off a coup by signing former Rangers, Liverpool and Scotland defender Danny Wilson. The 32-year-old joins from Colorado Rapids on an 18-month contract. Davidson said: “Danny has all the experience we have been looking for and he also has a great pedigree in the game. Getting him to sign for his is a bit of a coup as not only is he an excellent player, but he will help this club greatly in terms of bringing on our young defenders.”

Rangers update - possible ins and outs

Rangers are expected to complete the signing of 20-year-old Colombian winger Oscar Cortes on loan from Lens with an option to buy after he arrived in Glasgow. However, the Light Blues look to have been thwarted in their bid to land Brazilian left-back Jefte from Fluminense. They hoped to recruit the 20-year-old immediately, but he is currently on loan with APOEL Nicosia and the Cypriot club are reportedly intent on keeping him until the end of the campaign. Philippe Clement is believed to want one more striker in the door but so far it has been all quiet on that front with Rangers fans' hopes of a move for Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland fading by the hour. There could be big news on the Ibrox departure front amid reports from Italy that Hellas Verona are set to launch a bid to sign striker Cyriel Dessers. Midfielder Jose Cifuentes is also said to be a target for Brazilian side Cruzeiro while Adam Devine is wanted on loan by Motherwell and Kilmarnock.

Hibs update - possible ins and outs

It was already apparent that Hibs were in the market for a central defender - but it has emerged that they are in fact pursuing TWO targets for the position. A deal for Bournemouth centre-back Owen Bevan, the Wales Under-21 international, is progressing and expected to be completed before the deadline. But manager Nick Montgomery has also turned his attention to Sunderland defender Nectarios Triantis, who he had under his wing at previous club Central Coast Mariners. The Hibs boss failed with a loan bid for the 20-year-old earlier in the window but has returned with another offer after Sunderland signed their own defensive reinforcements. Hibs are hopeful that they can secure both players by the time the window closes. In terms of departures, six players have already exited Easter Road this month, but further moves cannot be ruled out with a possible loan departure still on the cards.

Hearts update - bid rejected, possible ins and outs

Hearts have knocked back a deadline day bid from Fleetwood Town for defender Toby Sibbick. According to the Daily Record, the League One side submitted an offer for the 24-year-old which has been rebuffed by the Tynecastle side. No news is good news for Hearts fans on the Lawrence Shankland front with no approaches having been made for their top scorer as things stand. The 28-year-old has been the subject of intense speculation in recent months, with Rangers heavily linked, and his apparent unwillingness to sign a bumper new contract has only added fuel to the fire. But with time running out until the window shuts, the propsects of Shankland remaining at Tynecastle for the rest of the season are increasing by the hour. In terms of new arrivals, Hearts are not believed to be pursuing any other targets after signing Scott Fraser on loan from Charlton on Wednesday. It looks unlikely that they will secure Yan Dhanda before the deadline after the Ross County playmaker agreed a pre-contract to move to Tynecastle in the summer.

Former Rangers winger Ryan Kent is set to complete a stunning move to Serie A. The 27-year-old has been frozen out at Fenerbahce since making the summer move from Ibrox, managing just one league start all season in the Turkish Super Lig. According to Sky Sports journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio, a loan move to Lazio has been agreed in a deal that will also include a €5million purchase option at the end of the season.

Groningen striker Kevin Van Veen is set to return to the Scottish Premiership before the 11.30pm deadline with three clubs chasing his signature. Motherwell remain hopeful of bringing their former record-breaking goalscorer back to Fir Park, but according to reports in the Netherlands, his next destination is likely to be either St Mirren or Kilmarnock with both clubs said to have reached an agreement with the Dutch club over a loan move until the end of the season.

Hibs have completed the signing of Sunderland defender Nectarios Triantis on loan for the rest of the season. The 20-year-old centre-half worked with current Easter Road boss Nick Montgomery during their time together at Central Coast Mariners. "We have been chasing Nectar for some time, and although we thought he’d remain at Sunderland, circumstances changed last night, and we made a move to bring him to Hibs," said Montgomery, who also hopes to land another young defender in Owen Bevan from Bournemouth before the window closes.

Late interest in Duk

Much of the speculation at now managerless Aberdeen in this window has centred around key striker Bojan Miovski. However, Spanish outlet AS is reporting that Leganes are interested in his fellow forward Duk. They claim that they have been in contact with Dons chiefs over a late move.

St Johnstone add striker

St Johnstone manager Craig Levein has strengthened his forward line further with the arrival of Adama Sidibeh, who joins for an undisclosed fee from Northern Premier League club Warrington Rylands. He has signed a contract until the summer of 2026.

Another defender in at Hibs

Not content with one loan defender, Hibs have confirmed another has arrived. This one has been in the post for a while - Welshman Owen Bevan has come in from Bournemouth. The 20-year-old can play centre-half or right-back. "Having watched him during his loan spell at Cheltenham Town earlier this season, I was really keen to try and bring him in for the second half of this season," said Hibs boss Nick Montgomery. "After a muscle injury saw him return to Bournemouth, discussions between the two clubs were on-going and we were able to get the deal done." We suspect that's Hibs done for the night ...
