It was a busy transfer deadline day across Scottish football – here’s how it all played out:

Scottish transfer deadline day

As reported earlier, Hibs could lose Harry McKirdy back to Swindon on loan. If he does move, Nick Montgomery will want to add another forward. However, the clock is ticking ... remember, the window closes at 11.30pm.

Steelmen make another signing

Motherwell are still working on deals and have just confirmed the arrival of full-back Jili Buyabu on loan from Sheffield United. “This is a move we’re excited by at the club and feel he can add something to the squad,” said manager Stuart Kettlewell.

McKirdy is a done deal

Harry McKirdy has left Hibs to rejoin Swindon Town on loan until the end of the season. Hibs boss Nick Montgomery said: “Harry has worked very hard to get back on the pitch and after everything he has been through, he is now in a good place. When the interest came for Harry, we had a good conversation and we felt that it would be a good opportunity for him to get more game-time than what was potentially on offer here. With players coming back from international duty and injuries, this gives Harry the opportunity to push on and to come back at the end of the season with minutes under his belt at a club he is really comfortable at, and grow in confidence with each game."

... and Hibs have moved fast

Hot off the heels of Harry McKirdy's Swindon move, Hibs have completed a deal for Sunderland's teenage Spaniard Eliezer Mayenda. The 18-year-old was impressed by Hibs after speaking to manager Nick Montgomery, who said: “He’s a powerful, attacking player with lots of energy. who can play both central and wide. At 18, he’s already played Championship football and is highly regarded at Sunderland with a big future ahead of him. He will complete our recruitment for January and add more depth and attacking options to the squad.”

Turnbull leaves Celtic

Celtic have announced that David Turnbull has left on a permanent deal to join Cardiff City. The midfielder's contract was due to expire at the end of the season and the Scotland internationalist had struggled for regular first-team football under Brendan Rodgers this season

That's it, the transfer window has slammed shut!

Teams can still do deals

Even though the window has closed, if a deal sheet had been completed in good time, clubs have a bit more leeway to complete transfers. And of course, free agents can be brought in at any point. But for now, that the January transfer business done. Are you happy with what your team did in the window?
