Premiership duo battle for youngster
St Mirren and Kilmarnock are battling to sign Rangers midfielder Callum Adamson this summer, with the 18-year-old likely to depart Ibrox on loan. The teenager spent last season on loan with Alloa Athletic, and made a strong impression in Scottish League One, bagging four goals and assisting three more.
However, with Rangers unable to offer Adamson regular first-team football at the current time, he has been lined up for a temporary move away from the club in order to continue his progression into senior football as he enters the final year of his contract. The Gers prodigy has also attracted interest from English third-tier side Swindon Town, though both St Mirren and Kilmarnock are pushing hard to convince him to stay in the Scottish Premiership.
Kilmarnock head coach, Neil McCann, was praised for his work with Gers winger Findlay Curtis last season. The 20-year-old moved on loan to Rugby Park and scored six goals in 14 appearances, earning a first senior call-up to the Scotland national team in March. Having already signed Bailey Rice on a similar deal from the Gers, they could hold the advantage in the quest to sign Adamson.

Scottish talent joins EPL side
Dundee United have confirmed that talented young striker Kai Hutchison has departed the club to sign for English Premier League side Everton. The 16-year-old was viewed as one of the club’s most exciting young academy products and featured in the SPFL Trust Trophy last season, while he was also invited to training with the senior team regularly.
However, the Scotland youth international was out of contract this summer and, having been unable to agree a new deal with Dundee United, Everton swooped. The Toffees are placing Hutchison into their highly-rated academy side at Finch Farm next season, with Jim Goodwin’s side expected to receive a six-figure compensation fee as part of his development.
A statement on Dundee United’s official website said: “Despite an offer to continue his development in Tangerine through a professional contract, Hutchison has opted to head south to join the Toffees. Following this decision, the two clubs agreed on a compensation package and the player has departed the club.”

Rangers mull striker move
Rangers are eyeing a move for Scotland Under-21 international Ryan One this summer, but will face competition from Leicester City in the battle for his signature. According to reports, the 20-year-old striker is a player that head coach Derek McInnes would like to add to his squad this summer as he prepares for his first season in charge at Ibrox.
The former Hamilton youngster is currently on the books of Sheffield United, but enjoyed a successful spell on loan to Lincoln City last year, where he scored five goals in seven starts to help the Imps secure promotion to the EFL Championship by winning the third-tier title. A versatile forward, One can play across the frontline both as a direct number nine or off the flanks.
Meanwhile, Rangers are also hoping to complete a deal for Partizan Belgrade midfielder Vanja Dragojevic, with the club having entered advanced talks over the 20-year-old Serbian international in recent days. The youngster is understood to be one of the club’s primary midfield targets, and will cost the Glasgow giants a fee of around £4million.

Celtic deal in ‘final stages’
Celtic are ready to allow defender Maik Nawrocki to depart the club on a permanent deal this summer, with the 25-year-old undergoing a medical with Ligue 1 side RC Lens. The Polish centre-back joined the club from Legia Warsaw for a reported fee of £4.3 million in the summer of 2023, becoming one of the first signings of Brendan Rodgers’ second spell in charge of the club, agreeing a five-year deal at Parkhead.
Nawrocki would struggle for regular game time at Parkhead, though, making just 15 appearances in two seasons for the club before being allowed to join German side Hannover 96 last summer. He flourished at the Heinz von Heiden-Arena, but the second-tier side were unable to strike a deal to bring him to the club permanently, and he now looks set to complete a move to France instead. According to reports, Nawrocki is now in the ‘final stages’ of the move and is already at Stade Bollaert-Delelis, undergoing medical tests ahead of a move across the border.
