The Celtic and Rangers players attracting interest in the final week of the transfer window

It has been an underwhelming January transfer window for European clubs – and Scotland hasn’t been exempt.

Issues around finances, travel and the Covid-19 pandemic has led to the quietest trading period for a long while with very little high-profile movements across the continent.

That hasn’t stopped a whole host of speculation though with a variety of clubs and suitors said to be eyeing the talent in the Scottish Premiership, and a few clubs linked with recruiting elsewhere.

Rangers signed Scott Wright on a pre-contract deal, but Steven Gerrard has cautioned against expectations of further recruitment – and insisted that there would be no outgoings from Ibrox.

There hasn’t been any such statement from across the city, where star French striker Odsonne Edouard has continued to be linked with a move away from Celtic.

There may not be sales, they may not welcome the interest, but the managers may be unable to stop admiring glances being made at their top-performing players.

After a quieter than usual start to the year, here’s a look at the 11 Old Firm players who could attract some interest in the final few days of the January transfer window as unlikely as moves may, or may not, turn out to be.
