Don’t worry, because we’ve put together a list of the must pick midfielders and budget option playmakers that will fit every and every throughout the group stage.
Here are the top 10 midfielders we recommend you include in your World Cup 2026 Fantasy Football squads:

5. Oscar Bobb - Norway - 5.1m
Another smart bargain option is that of the talented Fulham playmaker. While Norway are not expected to win the group, there's no reason they can't take second place with firepower such as Erling Haaland, with both Martin Odegaard and Bobb the players tasked with creating opportunities for the Manchester City superstar. 6. Ben Gannon-Doak - Scotland - 4.9m
A bargain option for those on the lookout for cheaper options in their squad. The flying AFC Bournemouth winger is expected to play a big part for a Scotland side that are favourites win the first game against Haiti. Could Steve Clarke's side qualify for the knockouts for the first time in their history? Quite possibly, and if they do, Gannon-Doak will have a big say. Take a chance on him at this criminally low price. | Getty Images

7. Bruno Fernandes - Portugal - 8.5m
The Manchester United playmaker has been in stunning form at Old Trafford this season, breaking the assist record in the English Premier League by laying on 21 goals for his teammates. Add in the fact that Portugal are favourites to win a group which contains DR Congo, Uzbekistan and Colombia, Fernandes feels like a must pick. | Getty Images

8. Lamine Yamal - Spain - 10m
The 18-year-old is an expensive option, but you probably can't afford to leave out the world's biggest teenage talent. While it may feel smart to go for a different option than others in order to try and gain an advantage, leaving Yamal out could lose you serious early points. He scored 24 goals and assisted 17 for Barcelona this season, and will be relishing the World Cup this summer with Spain expected to dominate a group that includes Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay. | AFP via Getty Images
