Here are the top 10 midfielders we recommend you include in your World Cup 2026 Fantasy Football squads:

1. Leandro Trossard - Belgium - 6.6m
The Arsenal star turned up time and time again for the title winner Gunners, scoring several crucial goals in tight games. He’ll be relied on to do the same for his national team this summer, and costs less than Kevin De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku but is just as likely to get your squad points from a group Belgium are expected to win fairly comfortably. | Getty Images

2. Junya Ito - Japan - 5m
One of the biggest bargain options in the game is that of Genk's pacey winger. While Japan face a tough group consisting of Sweden, the Netherlands and Tunisia, there's no reason they can't top it, having witnessed recent performances - and if they do, Ito will almost certainly play a pivotal role. Scored six goals and added five assists in just 22 games in the Belgian Pro League this season. A cheap option that could potentially get you some early points on the board. | Getty Images

3. Morgan Rogers - England - 7m
The temptation to pick one of Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka or Marcus Rashford will be huge, but the Aston Villa playmaker is much better value and equally as likely to produce for the Three Lions at the World Cup. He's scored 10 and assisted a further six in the English Premier League this season, and will play a big part under Thomas Tuchel in North America this summer. | Getty Images

4. Ibrahim Sangare - Ivory Coast - 5.8m
The Nottingham Forest midfielder is a box-to-box presence that has already shown a knack for finding the back of the net for his national team with 12 goals in 57 caps. He plays in an open, attacking group and loves to engage in defensive duels, too. | AFP via Getty Images
