Bob MacIntyre makes call on season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai
Scottish No 1 is sitting out season finale, meaning his remaining 2026 appearance will be in Bahamas
Bob MacIntyre’s DP World Tour season is over after the Oban man decided to sit out both of the big-money Play-Offs in the Middle East over the next fortnight.
The Scottish No 1 is missing the $9 million Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship, which takes place this week at Yas Links, and next week’s $10 million DP World Tour Championship in Dubai due to concerns about the ongoing conflict in the region.

It will be the first time since he made his debut in 2019 and was crowned as DP World Tour Rookie of the Year that MacIntyre has missed the season finale at Jumeirah Golf Estates.
It means his remaining appearance in 2027 will be in the Hero World Challenge, the event hosted by 15-time major winner Tiger Woods, in the Bahamas next month.
MacIntyre will be making his third successive start in the PGA Tour event, which takes place at Albany from 3-6 December. The 30-year-old’s rivals will include world No 1 Scottie Scheffler, who won the event back-to-back in 2023 and 2024.
The field also includes current world No 3 Cameron Young, fourth-ranked Matthew Fitzpatrick and four others in the top ten in the global standings in Chris Gotterup, Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley and Sam Burns.
Hideki Matsuyama, the defending champion, has also been confirmed along with Si Wo Kim, J.J. Spaun, Justin Thomas, Ryan Gerard, Jacob Bridgeman, Tom Kim, Sepp Straka and Akshay Bhatia. Three other spots have still to be filled.
