From the Isle of Lewis, here's what to know about Stephen Libby from The Traitors Season 4, including his age, job, relationship status and more.

The latest series of The Traitors is now well under way, with one man from the Isle of Lewis hoping to lie his way into winning the cash prize.

While he now lives in London, Stephen Libby is among those who entered Ardross Castle in Alness for series four of the BBC reality show under the watchful gaze of Claudia Winkleman.

Selected as one of this year’s Traitors, Stephen will attempt to sabotage the Faithfuls to win £120,000 alongside his fellow remaining Traitors Rachel Duffy and Fiona Hughes, who was selected as a secret Traitor in a new twist for 2026.

Having won over audiences at home, Stephen has already become a suspect to some playing the game, so here’s everything you need to know about The Traitor’s Stephen Libby – including his age, job and more.

The Traitors Season 4: Who is Stephen and where is he from?

Originally from the Isle of Lewis, Stephen is one the lucky few who has been selected to take part in series four of The Traitors.

Now living and working in London, the well-dressed Traitor told the BBC that decided to apply for the show as it is “one of those games that you can't watch without putting yourself in it”.

Expanding on his reasoning, he said: “There are certain shows where you're screaming at the TV with every single decision that's made, thinking why have you done that? Or why have you said that? Or I could do better than that.

“I genuinely love this game. Maybe I've got a bit of a delusional kind of a sense that I can do really well in this.”

Having been a fan of The Traitors from the start, he spent his time preparing to enter the castle by re-watching past episodes from across the franchise and developing his own strategies to win.

Describing himself as “a bit of a control freak”, Stephen was keen to be a Traitor in order to best “take control of the game”.

While he does think his poker face is good enough to be a Traitor, he did highlight one concern: “... I can go quite red faced. Being from the north of Scotland, you only need to take a walk outside on a rainy day, and you're burnt to a crisp!”

Otherwise Stephen reckons that his ability to read people and his linguistics degree will help him notice subtle changes in people, in addition to his personality.

“I'm very personable. People seem to let their guard down around me very quickly when I first meet them. I think that's partly due to having quite a regional accent that I think works in my favour.”

He added: “I’m going to use what I feel is my quite innate talent to bring people close to solidify myself among the group, as someone that they would feel bad about getting rid of.”

How old is Stephen?

Stephen is 32 years old.

What does Stephen from The Traitors do for work?

While he may be a threat to Faithfuls inside the castle, outside of the game Stephen does quite the opposite in his role as a cyber security consultant.

Is Stephen from The Traitors single?

Since the show started airing on New Year’s Day, Stephen has amassed quite a few fans who may be disappointed to learn that the Traitor is a relationship. He revealed the information to the BBC ahead of the show beginning, sharing that his competitive nature only ended up emerging due to his partner.

He said: “Funnily enough, I was an ‘it’s the taking part that counts’ kind of person. And then I met my partner, and him and his family are vile when it comes to games.

“There are no holds barred, and it gets a bit heated. I had to learn to be equally committed and now they've awakened something in me that I never knew was there before!”

What would Stephen do if he won The Traitors?

As for what he would do if he walked away with the £120,000 prize, Stephen shared that his top priority would be giving back to his parents.

He said: “I was the first person in my family to go to university, and we weren't a university family at all. Financially, it wasn't something that we would really be able to do but my parents really gave up a lot to push me through.

“I would love to be able to give back to my dad who is the most incredible artist. He’s a butcher by trade but I would love to be able to just give him a chance to get away from that and really have more time to work on his art as much as possible.”

He also added that he would like to use some of the money to get on the property ladder.

Stephen said: “For myself, I've been in London now for eight years, and I'm getting to the point now where I'd like to be able to get on the property ladder.”

You can keep up with Stephen and The Traitors on BBC One and iPlayer on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8pm.
