Castle Concerts 2021: The Script's Edinburgh Castle concert postponed by another year due to pandemic

The Script have cancelled their Edinburgh Castle concert for a second time due to the pandemic.

The Irish pop-rockers were due to perform in the Capital this summer.

The July 16, 2021 date – already rescheduled from 2020 – has now been put back a further 12 months.

The Danny O'Donoghue-fronted trio, whose biggest hits include The Man Who Can't Be Moved and Hall of Fame, will now play at Edinburgh Castle on Saturday, July 16, 2022.

For those who were unable to get tickets for the original date, the good news is that additional tickets for the rescheduled show will be released for sale early next week.

For those unable to attend this rescheduled date, full refunds will be available from point of purchase.

A spokesperson for Castle Concerts said: “As much as we would all love to be able to go to a concert again with no social distancing in place, it has become clear that this July is probably just too soon to be able to do so.

The Script will play Edinburgh Castle in 2022, having postponed this summer's gig due to the pandemic.

“The logistics of staging the concert and planning a tour by a major artist means that we all needed to be confident that we could operate at full capacity before going too far down the road and unfortunately, we’re not there yet.

“We can’t wait to return to this wonderful arena again next summer.”
