Jones will be a partner in the family law team in the dispute resolution department and joins a team of specialist practitioners based in the firm’s Edinburgh and Glasgow offices. She has more than 20 years of experience in family law work and is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in family law. Jones works across the full range of family law actions including divorce, cases involving children and also cohabitants claims, and has also developed a practice in pre- and post-nuptial agreements and living together agreements for unmarried couples.
Real estate adviser Savills has again grown its operation in Aberdeen with the appointment of Dan Smith as a director. He joins after 11 years at FG Burnett where he was a director working in the Aberdeen office agency team. At Savills he will work across the office and industrial sectors, both on agency and investment, alongside Simpson Buglass, head of office and director in the commercial team. Nick Penny, head of Savills Scotland, said: “With an established reputation in Aberdeen’s commercial property market, the senior appointment of Dan Smith is extremely good news for Savills as we continue to grow the service we offer clients.” Buglass said Smith was “widely respected and much liked in the Aberdeen market” and welcomed him to the Savills team.

Hide AdAlloa-based data centre infrastructure specialists RMD has appointed a new head of operations to support the company’s growth. David Purvis joins from infra‑red sensor specialist Pyreos where he was senior director of global sales. With a background in engineering and over 20 years of sales and customer support experience, Purvis will be responsible for change management at RMD as well as liaising with external marketing, design and PR consultants. Gavin Maxwell, RMD managing director, said he was “a high calibre hire”.
