Maryhill assault: Man in hospital with serious injuries after assault near Glasgow church

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being attacked on the canal path beside Gairbraid Parish Church.

The incident took place on Thursday, November 5 at around 11pm.

The victim was a 46-year-old man who needed to receive hospital treatment after the serious attack.

Detective Constable Katrina Keogh, from Greater Glasgow CID, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have been in this area of Maryhill around the time of the incident on Thursday and saw anything suspicious to please come forward.

“At this time, we’d also ask any nearby individuals or businesses with potential CCTV footage to get in touch, as it may prove useful to our investigation.”
