Woman kicks dog and punches its owner on beachfront path

Police are appealing for information to help trace a woman who allegedly kicked a dog and punched its owner on Saturday on the Monifieth beachfront.

The incident took place between 1pm and 1.30pm on Saturday November 7 at the Monifieth end of the Broughty Ferry to Monifieth beachfront path, near to the Tayview Caravan

Park.

Police have said that a woman walking her dog crossed paths with an older woman who had a small black and white dog with her.

As their dogs came together, the older woman allegedly kicked the complainer’s dog, then punched her when she tried to intervene. The older woman also subjected the

complainer to sustained verbal abuse.

Police are seeking help to trace the woman described as white, possibly in her 70s and about 5ft in height. She was wearing an army-green coloured jacket and also wore large

glasses.

This is a busy area at all times of the day, and the police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen any part of this incident.
