Man, 77, goes missing after taking motorbike out in Scottish hills

The 77-year-old was due back at his home on Monday, July 27 at about 1pm.

Concerns are growing for a man who has gone missing in one of Scotland’s beauty spots.

George McGowan, from the Golspie area, was out trail biking in the area of Ben Bhraggie on a while Beta Alp 200 motorcycle and has not returned home.

The 77-year-old was expected back at his home on Monday, July 27 at about 1pm.

He is white, 5ft11in, medium build, has short grey hair and wears glasses.

At the time he went missing he was wearing a blue Reak motorbike jacket, a blue boiler suit, blue boots and a black motorcycle helmet and goggles.

Officers have assisted in his search and are appealing to the public for any information they might have.

A police spokeswoman said: “If you have any information which may assist in tracing George please contact Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident 1885 27/07/2020.”
