Govan police block off Summertown Road in response to major incident

Several roads in the area have been blocked off by police.

A man has died following a serious incident at a flat in Glasgow.

Officers were called to a property in Summertown Path, Govan, where a man was found seriously injured.

The 33-year-old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he died from his injuries shortly after being found.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police in Govan blocked access to several streets in the Summertown Road area of the town this afternoon.

Video footage shows a large police presence, with officers standing guard in front of police tape at several locations.

A police spokesman said: “At about 12.30am on Monday, 31 August, police were called to a report of a man injured within a flat on Summertown Path, Govan, Glasgow.

"The 33 year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he died a short time later.

“A 21 year-old man has been arrested in connection with this incident.

“Police enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should contact Helen Street Police Station through 101 quoting reference number 0081 of 31 August. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
