Woman critical, man arrested in attempted murder probe at Fife beauty spot

A man has been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of a woman at a Fife beauty spot.

Police confirmed the arrest after officers carried out an investigation into an incident at Woodend Communiuty Woodland, out the outskirts of Cowdenbeath early on Sunday evening.

Police Scotland said a report was received of a 23-year old woman founded injured in an area off Broad Street.

They confirmed the matter was being treated as attempted murder.

The woman was taken to hospital where her condition is said to be critical but stable.

Police confirmed a 22-year old man had been arrested.
