Shetland is back for a brand new series, with the usual cast of suspects - sorry, actors - set to star.
Returning for its tenth series, the acclaimed BBC murder-mystery drama is shaking things up by setting the new episodes within the fictional village of Lunniswick.
Following the murder of a retired social worker, DI Alison ‘Tosh’ McIntosh and DI Ruth Calder - played by Alison O’Donnell and Ashley Jensen, respectively - travel to the remote hamlet to investigate, where they encounter a host of new characters living within close-knit community. As they begin to unravel exactly what happened, long-buried secrets begin to emerge, with unexpected consequences for everyone - including the team.
With so many new faces being introduced, the Shetland series 10 guest cast includes Greg McHugh, Ellie Haddington and Clive Russell, who is one of several actors playing a new role after a previous appearance on the show.
Speaking about working with the “incredible” actors on board this season, Jensen said: “One of the things I love about this show is the calibre of guest actors we get. This is season ten and we’re still getting huge names to come along.”
She added: “It was also wonderful to work with the next generation of actors who had little or no TV experience. With Shetland, there is no such thing as a small part and I’m always delighted to see new faces on the show.”
Here is the full cast of Shetland Series 10, from regulars to guest stars.

25. Angus Miller as Donnie
Pictured here in the 2023 production Dead Dad Dog, Angus Miller will reprise his role as Donnie - Tosh's partner and the father of her child - in Shetland Series 10. You may also recognise him from his theatre roles, Outlander, Dept Q, and more. He is set to appear in the upcoming season of Ted Lasso. | Lidia Crisafulli Photo: Lidia Crisafulli

26. Lila Rose as Jess Jameson
While we couldn't find a picture of Lila Rose as Jess Jameson in Shetland, the Scottish actress played Kitty in season two of Traces. Her character Jess is described as a perfect mix of both of her parents. An excellent student, the teenager was due to go to university until she fell pregnant at which point she felt pressured into keeping the baby by her mother. | BBC/Silverprint Films/Jamie Simpson

27. Maria MacDonell as Eadie Tulloch
Finally, veteran actress Maria MacDonell plays Eadie Tulloch, the murder victim of Shetland Series 10. Best known for her work as in theatre - such as The Not So Ugly Duckling, a 2022 play she co-wrote and starred in, as pictured - she recently appeared in 2025 horror The House Was Not Hungry Then. | Robin Mitchell
