Shetland is back for a brand new series, with the usual cast of suspects - sorry, actors - set to star.
Returning for its tenth series, the acclaimed BBC murder-mystery drama is shaking things up by setting the new episodes within the fictional village of Lunniswick.
Following the murder of a retired social worker, DI Alison ‘Tosh’ McIntosh and DI Ruth Calder - played by Alison O’Donnell and Ashley Jensen, respectively - travel to the remote hamlet to investigate, where they encounter a host of new characters living within close-knit community. As they begin to unravel exactly what happened, long-buried secrets begin to emerge, with unexpected consequences for everyone - including the team.
With so many new faces being introduced, the Shetland series 10 guest cast includes Greg McHugh, Ellie Haddington and Clive Russell, who is one of several actors playing a new role after a previous appearance on the show.
Speaking about working with the “incredible” actors on board this season, Jensen said: “One of the things I love about this show is the calibre of guest actors we get. This is season ten and we’re still getting huge names to come along.”
She added: “It was also wonderful to work with the next generation of actors who had little or no TV experience. With Shetland, there is no such thing as a small part and I’m always delighted to see new faces on the show.”
Here is the full cast of Shetland Series 10, from regulars to guest stars.

1. Ashley Jensen as DI Ruth Calder
Back into the thick of things, Ashley Jensen reprises her role as DI Ruth Calder. This series, Calder has (mostly) settled back into Shetland and her growing friendship with Tosh, though she remains fairly solitary otherwise. She's not unhappy, but when she meets Ed Tulloch - the victim's son - she becomes intrigued. Jensen is someone who needs no further introduction, with past roles including shows such as Ugly Betty, Extras and Agatha Raisin. | BBC/Silverprint Films/Jamie Simpson

2. Alison O’Donnell as DI Alison ‘Tosh’ McIntosh
Alison O'Donnell has starred in Shetland as DI Alison ‘Tosh’ McIntosh since the show began in 2013. Now heading into series 10, Tosh has accepted the isolation of being a cop and keeps some distance between herself and those she must police. She enjoys her friends at the station, but her relationship with Billy ends up under the spotlight this season. Though she is best known for her role in Shetland, O'Donnell is also a prolific theatre actress. | BBC/Silverprint Films/Jamie Simpson

3. Steven Robertson as Sandy Wilson
A Shetland local both in the show and in real life, Steven Robertson returns to the show as Sandy Wilson for a tenth season - which promises to be busy for the character. Between a drugs operation and the murder, he - and the police - are being stretched thin. Robertson's other roles include shows such as The Bay, Vera, and Being Human as well as films from Trainspotting 2 to Tell It To The Bees. | BBC/Silverprint Films/Jamie Simpson

4. Lewis Howden as Sgt Billy McCabe
Series 10 of Shetland is a big one for Billy. Played by Lewis Howden - who is known for roles in projects such as Aberdeen, Rebus, Monarch of the Glen, Taggart and more - the police sergeant's personal life comes under the microscope when his connections to the victim come to light. | BBC/Silverprint Films/Jamie Simpson
