First held in 1970 as the Pop, Blues & Folk Festival - when just 1,500 people attended - Glastonbury has grown to become a major event in the British cultural calendar, with most of the biggest names in music having played it at least once.
Last year over 200,000 enjoyed headline sets from Neil Young, Olivia Rodrigo and The 1975, along with hundreds of other bands playing countless stages of all sizes - and millions watched the extensive television coverage.
As part of the green ethos of organisers Michael and Emily Evis, the event taking a break every five years to give the working farm some time to rejuvenate from the inevitable wear and tear caused - and this year was one such ‘fallow year’.
The resultant gap in 2026’s music festival has, if anything, only increased speculation as to who will be topping the bill in 2027.
The tickets went on sale earlier this month and sold out immediately - despite not a single act being announced.
If you managed to bag your spot at Worthy Farm, here are the artists you are most likely to see, with the bookies now seemingly pretty certain of all three acts that will top the bill.

5. U2 - 6/1
Remarkably U2 have only played Glastonbury once before - they headlined in 2011 with the performance delayed by a year due to Bono suffering a back injury. The Irish band have announced a new album and have already confirmed live dates for 2027 - so Glastonbury could be a good fit. They are priced at 6/1. | Getty Images

6. Taylor Swift - 8/1
Arguably the biggest artist on the planet at the moment, Taylor Swift has never played Glastonbury - her headline slot in 2020 was cancelled due to the pandemic. She's sure to be near the top of Emily Eavis' wishlist and was previously the red hot favourite but has now seen her odds of headlining drift out to 8/1. | Getty Images

7. Sabrina Carpenter - 10/1
Pop superstar Sabrina Carpenter is heavily rumoured to be planning a string of huge shows in the UK in summer 2027 - so Glastonbury would be an obvious stop. She's 10/1 to make her first appearance at Worthy Farm. | Getty Images for The Recording A

8. Ed Sheeran - 14/1
Ed Sheeran, who last headlined the festival in 2017, was an early favourite to return exactly a decade later. He's been cuaght up in much-publicised controversy though, after his US support act was scrapped after speaking out in support of Palestine. Maybe 2027 is no longer his year - he's now drifted out to 14/1. | Getty Images
