From international brands arriving in Edinburgh and Glasgow, to a luxurious new retreat in the Highlands, here are some of Scotland’s newly opened (and soon to open) hotels.
9. Clayton Hotel, Glasgow
Clayton Hotel Glasgow City is the Group’s first Clayton hotel in Scotland, following the opening of Maldron Hotel Glasgow in August 2021. The Glasgow hotel opened in late 2022 and is situated on Clyde Street on the site of the city’s Grade A listed Custom House building. Clayton Hotel Glasgow City is a 4-star property that is part of a significant restoration of the historical St Enoch area. The refurbished listed building serves as the entrance to the hotel with the reception, public area, ballroom and event spaces all located here. Adjacent to the historic building and connected, in part, by a glazed ceiling, the stylish ultra-modern hotel also houses the Custom House Bar & Restaurant. Photo: Clayton Hotels
10. Dornoch Station, Dornoch
Dating back to 1902 and following extensive renovations, this new property, which opened in late August honours the hotel’s original name “Station Hotel”. There’s 89 spacious guest rooms and all new public spaces, with the grounds now home to a new putting green and fire pits for guests to enjoy. It is located just a short walk from the first fairway of Royal Dornoch Golf Club, and the design is inspired by the Highlands alongside a seaside theme. Dining outlets include: Highland cuisine at The Golden Gorse, a restaurant with stunning views of the Royal Dornoch Links and the sea - and Bar Ross for a quintessential Scottish bar experience Photo: Marine and Lawn Hotels
