Highland: Can-Cans corner cup success

KYLE Scott told how a cornering from manager Charlie Rowley inspired Forres Mechanics to North of Scotland Cup success.

The Moray PE teacher was one of two scorers from corner kicks just days after the Can-Cans were lambasted for a lack of quality at set-pieces. Forres stormed 3-0 up in the final at Brora's Dudgeon Park but had to survive a brave fightback by Wick Academy, in their first-ever cup final.

Scott said: "Last week, we were on the end of a real rant from our boss Charlie Rowley. He wasn't happy with us not getting our corners right. So we worked on it in training and two of our three goals today came from that, including mine." The Aberdeenshire Cup final was more one-sided, with Cove Rangers hammering Buckie Thistle 3-0.
