Steven Gerrard confirms Rangers team to face Royal Antwerp in Europa League second leg including return for COVID-19 breach trio

Steven Gerrard has named his starting team for the second instalment of Rangers’ Europa League last-32 match with Royal Antwerp.

After last week’s manic encounter which ended in a 4-3 win for the Scottish Premiership leaders, the Ibrox boss is without striker Kemar Roofe and captain James Tavernier.

Ryan Jack also limped out of the weekend’s win over Dundee United limiting his options further – however the isolation period for Europa League squad members Nathan Patterson, Bongani Zungu and Calvin Bassey has concluded and the trio now available. The players made an emotional apology to fans earlier this week on the club’s in-house TV channel and have been included on the bench.

Antwerp are stronger than last week with the return of Lamakel Ze however top scorer Dieumerci Mbokani wil again miss out through injury and Abdouleye Seck is suspended after last week’s red card.

Rangers reached the last 16 last season and are one match away from repeating the feat.

The players picked to seal the progession, are listed below.
