Rangers vs Aberdeen: Team news, predictions, current form, key men and latest Scottish Premiership odds
Rangers will welcome Aberdeen this weekend in the Scottish Premiership for their penultimate home of the season at Ibrox on Sunday (kick off: 12pm).
Fresh off the back of a hard-fought 1-1 draw against fierce rivals Celtic, the Gers are hoping to end a run of six games without a win in all competitions, as interim boss Barry Ferguson looks to restore some much needed pride following their disappointing domestic campaign.

Ahead of the game, we look through each team’s recent form, and give our predictions for the game based on the form of both sides:

Rangers Recent Form
The Gers made it three games unbeaten against their fierce rivals Celtic last weekend, with Cyriel Dessers scoring as they secured a 1-1 draw at Ibrox. Despite a strong Old Firm performance, the result leaves them without a home win since February 2, and winless in six games in all competitions - their last win coming over a month ago in a dramatic 4-3 victory at Dundee at Dens Park back on 29 March. Perhaps even more alarming is that Rangers have scored just two goals in their last seven games at home - something has to change this weekend against Aberdeen.

Aberdeen Recent Form
Last weekend’s 1-0 loss to St Mirren at the SMiSA Stadium was the Dons first defeat since February 25 and leaves them in fourth place. The week prior, Aberdeen were the first side in 17 league games to inflict defeat on third-placed Hibs, following on from wins over Motherwell and Ross County, and they could leapfrog them this weekend with a win at Ibrox. They still stand a chance of silverware this season too, after last month’s 2-1 extra-time win over Hearts set up a Scottish Cup final meeting with Celtic on May 24.

The Gers have a number of injury worries, with Ridvan Yilmaz (ankle), Robin Propper (ankle) Tom Lawrence (knock), Rafael Fernandes (knock) and Findlay Curtis (knock) all expected to miss the game against Aberdeen this weekend. Dujon Sterling (Achilles) is out long-term, though the Neraysho Kasanwirjo (knee) may make his return to the starting XI after being named on the bench in last weekend’s draw with Celtic.
Visitors Aberdeen have a number of injury concerns too, with Sivert Heltne Nilsen (eye), Kristers Tobers (knock), Ester Sokler (leg) and Gavin Molloy (shoulder) expected to be absent for the visit to Glasgow.
Rangers Key Man: Cyriel Dessers
With Rangers struggling for goals at home, the responsibility will fall on the shoulders of the big Nigerian to score again this weekend. He has 25 goals for the season in all competitions, and is just three away from a half-century for the club, which is an impressive total for a player often regarded as polarizing amongst Rangers supporters.
Aberdeen Key Man: Kevin Nisbet
The Scotland international has really found his groove at Pittodrie this season, scoring 10 goals and assisting five more in just 20 starts. Nisbet has caused Rangers problems in the past too, and will be looking to extend their winless run at Ibrox this weekend.

It is quite unbelievable to think that Ferguson could be the first Rangers manager in history not to win a game at Ibrox, if he can’t lead them to victory in their final two home games. However, the truth is, they face another tough task this weekend against one of the league’s most in-form sides in Aberdeen. The fourth game between the sides this season, the Dons took advantage of Rangers’ poor form earlier in the season at Pittodrie, winning 3-1 in October - but can they do it again? I think it’s quite hard to separate the two teams, with both Rangers and Aberdeen needing the win for different reasons.
Prediction: Rangers 1-1 Aberdeen (SkyBet currently offer odds of 7/1).
Rangers v Aberdeen odds
With odds of 3/5, Rangers are favourites to emerge victorious at Ibrox, with Aberdeen priced at 4/1 to take all three points. Fancy a draw? You’ll find that priced at 3/1.*
