It was a night that burst into life with an energetic opening to each half but only in the second did Rangers make their attacks pay with two terrific team moves to create goals for Scott Arfield and James Tavernier.
The captain laid on the first, aided by a cushioned pass by Ianis Hagi into the Canada international’s path, and then started and finished the move for the second – so it’s little wonder he figures highly in the ratings on a night where Rangers collectively pulled through past some big-name players and into the group stage of the Europa League for the third time in as many years.

1. Allan McGregor - 7
Fairly untroubled for the majority of the match despite facing one of the best known strikers in world football. Sharp in the first half to cut out momentum building attacks and ease pressure on defence. Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group
2. James Tavernier - 9
Didn't stop running all evening, especially in the second half when he was unleashed on Galatasaray and it paid off with a goal. West Ham might be interested but with this sort of form and his goalscoring record, more will be paying attention. Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group
3. Borna Barisic - 7
Back in the first team after being rested at the weekend, once again mirrored the tireless running of the captain on the opposite wing and supplied for his fellow full-back - and could have supplied more from dangerous set-pieces. Photo: Ian MacNicol
4. Connor Goldson - 7
Mix-up in the first half aside, standard fare from Goldson this season. Could have had a goal in the first half and now beginning to threaten more at corner kicks he maybe got away with a handball claim in the first half, but consistently solid at the back as he has been and an important influence.
