Legend Laudrup says Rangers midfielder can keep adding value to his price-tag

Rangers legend Brian Laudrup reckons Glan Kamara’s performances, and the upcoming Euro 2020 for Finland, will only add to the bargain buy’s value.

Kamara was signed from Dundee in a £50,000 move almost two years ago and has proven his worth several times over at Ibrox with a string of impressive midfield displays.

And Laudrup, who played almost 150 games for Rangers during four years in Scotland, is another admirer after his role in the Old Firm win over Celtic.

Writing in his weekly column in the Scottish Daily Mail, the Danish winger said: “On Saturday, his footballing brain was in top gear to run beside his technical qualities. Kamara’s value will only rise if he impresses for Finland at Euro 2020 next summer.”

Rangers are keen to hang onto their asset and are hopeful of sealing a new deal for the former Arsenal man who was reportedly attracting interest from Anderlecht, Brighton and West Ham in the summer transfer window. After he starred in the UEFA Europa League play-off win over Galatasaray boss Steven Gerrard insisted his midfielder was going nowhere and hinted at a new deal being offered in the near future.

Laudup added: “Kamara’s decision-making sets him apart. It is exceptional when he is at his best.

"I thought he was the best player on the park in the Old Firm game. Just outstanding. He was crucial to the control Rangers had.”

The 24-year-old has 20 caps for Finland who are grouped with Belgium, Russia and Denmark in next summer’s tournament.
