The Scottish Premiership transfer window closed at 11pm on Monday night, with Celtic, Rangers, and Hibs all strengthening their squads in the final hours with some big signings.
Despite the window being slammed shut, transfers are still being discussed with Celtic manager Martin O’Neill admitting he has held discussions with former Arsenal and Liverpool playmaker Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain over a free transfer move following his release from Besiktas earlier in the season. But which other big-name players are available as free agents?
Players not currently under contract with any club are currently able to be signed and registered outside of the standard transfer windows, meaning Scottish Premiership clubs may still look to do further business in the weeks ahead.
Here, The Scotsman looks at 20 of the best free agents still able to sign for clubs, including a former Liverpool cult-hero, World Cup winner, and 68-goal English Premier League striker.

9. Liam McCarron
The 24-year-old former Leeds United and Stoke City midfielder has been without a club since departing Northampton Town in the summer. Pacey and versatile, he has been hampered by injuries in recent years, but can provide an option anywhere down the hand side for team's needing to add a left wing-back or left winger. | Getty Images

10. Dele Alli
A two-time PFA Young Player of the Year, it is hard to believe the former Tottenham Hotspur ace is still just 29 years old. Rising to prominence as a teenager at MK Dons, his move to Spurs catapulted him into superstardom and saw him viewed as one of the world's most talented young footballers. A combination of form and injury has seen him struggle in recent years, though. Moves to Everton and FC Como failed to see him return to the playmaking ability that made him so highly rated as a youngster. 11. Divock Origi
The 30-year-old former Liverpool cult-hero is available on a free transfer after mutually terminating his contract with AC Milan last month. Having had a nomadic few years, but with over 70 career goals and a knack for scoring crucial ones, Origi could be an intriguing option for some. | Getty Images

12. Juan Bernat
Want an experienced left-back that has won almost everything in the game without spending a penny on a transfer fee? There are few better options than former Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain defender Bernat. A free agent since his contract expired at Getafe in the summer, the 32-year-old has won eight league titles during his career, and was a runner-up in the 2019 Champions League final. | Getty Images
