The Scottish Premiership transfer window closed at 11pm on Monday night, with Celtic, Rangers, and Hibs all strengthening their squads in the final hours with some big signings.
Despite the window being slammed shut, transfers are still being discussed with Celtic manager Martin O’Neill admitting he has held discussions with former Arsenal and Liverpool playmaker Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain over a free transfer move following his release from Besiktas earlier in the season. But which other big-name players are available as free agents?
Players not currently under contract with any club are currently able to be signed and registered outside of the standard transfer windows, meaning Scottish Premiership clubs may still look to do further business in the weeks ahead.
Here, The Scotsman looks at 20 of the best free agents still able to sign for clubs, including a former Liverpool cult-hero, World Cup winner, and 68-goal English Premier League striker.

1. Kurt Zouma
The French international centre-back is available for free after a short stint at CFR Cluj failed to work out. Played almost 200 games between spells at West Ham United and Chelsea before leaving to sign for Saudi Pro League side Al-Orobah FC in the summer of 2024. Still just 31, he's a reliable signing for those who need to add strength at centre-back. | Wolves via Getty Images

2. Nathan Redmond
The one-time England international left doomed EFL Championship club Sheffield Wednesday after playing just 132 minutes earlier this year, and is available as a free agent. He's still only 31, and has over 250 top flight appearances to his name after performing for Southampton, Norwich City, and Burnley in the English Premier League. Still has plenty to offer for teams in need of a creative wideman. | Getty Images

3. Jason Denayer
A former title winner with Celtic, the Belgium international enjoyed a superb loan spell at Parkhead as a youngster, but has bizarrely been without a club for a year since his exit from Al Fateh FC. Capped 35 times by his country, Denayer has played for huge clubs such as Manchester City, Lyon, and Galatasaray, but finds himself a free agent at the prime age of just 30. | Getty Images

4. Raheem Sterling
One of the most exciting free agent options, Sterling mutually agreed to terminate his contract with Chelsea last month and is an attractive option for many. Very loosely linked to Celtic earlier this season, he has endured a difficult last few years, but with 123 English Premier League goals and countless medals in his cabinet, he can definitely still add plenty to teams across Europe. Wages may be an issue for many, though, with the 31-year-old paid a reported £300,000 a week during his time at Stamford Bridge. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images
