The Hoops are in last season’s Scottish Cup semi-final with Aberdeen this afternoon giving Steven Gerrard’s side the chance to extend their command at the top of the table.
James Tavernier gave them the lead from the penalty spot and there was yet another clean sheet for the Glasgow side who ultimately stretched their advantage to nine points – but Kilmarnock restricted the visitors to a single goal and it was a nervy ending to the afternoon with the home side pressing for an equaliser that didn’t come.
Scale - 10: One of the best performances you've seen. 9: Outstanding. 8: Very good. 7: Good. 6: Average. 5: Poor, 4: Very poor. 3: A terrible day at the office. 2: Abysmal. 1: One of the worst performances you've seen.

Tidy and busy, allowed Goldson to get forward and controlled the first half with play all in front of him. Broke up Killie play in second half and when further up the park, home side exploited the space he left to get forward. Vital interceptions too. Photo: Mark Runnacles
Birthday boy was bit more subdued than usual and less attacking with Itten now an option further up the field. Not as influential as usual but slotted in and did the job in several roles throughout the 90 minutes. Photo: Mark Runnacles
Nifty footwork combatted the crowding of Killie defenders at times and unlucky with a well-executed half-volley in the first half. Photo: Rob Casey - SNS Group
