"Good to see Tav back," "A goal is Itten in the stars," : Rangers fans react to "sensible line-up" vs St Johnstone

Rangers fans were pleased to see captain James Tavernier back in Steven Gerrard’s heavily altered team against St Johnstone.

There were other moves in the selection and Craig Forbes said: “Interested to see if Hagi performs as it looks as if hes gonna slot into his natural position instead of front right.”

Graeme Robertson: “Been wanting Hagi to play CM for a while. Not got the pace for the forward area, needs to bulk up a bit but could be much more effecting in CM.”

Stephen Stephenson: “Hope Itten has a good game and gets a goal, the boy needs it.”

Jennifer Rennie: “Sensible line up, resting a lot of regular players as league is won. Keeping them for cup game.”

@AdamMil80244347: “Patterson unfairly benched imo.”

Sandy Hunter: “Good to see Tav back and a few fringe players getting a chance.”

Roy N Shaw: “Great to see Tav back. Let's not forget another big game tonight, Celtic v Gers ladies on BBC Alba – let's hope ladies win and go on and take title.”

The bench was also subject of much praise.

Scott Broadley: “Is that the best bench we have had ever?”

@sincy24: “Been years since rangers had a bench that good, Wright and Itten to score tonight.”

Meanwhile a few fans got creative with the line-up in Perth.

@R1130_: “A goal is Itten in the stars.”

@bnmurray: “If Buffalo comes on we could have a front three of Wright Ced Fred. (OK I'm sorry).”
