'Fast start - utilise the bench', 'Thought Wright would start', 'Manager knows best' - Fans react to Rangers team selection v Dundee United

James Tavernier’s midweek injury headlined the changes necessary but Glen Kamara was also missing from the team to face the visiting Tangerines, as was midweek striker Kemar Roofe – suspended for the SPFL Premiership and injured too.

There were also changes on the bench with the likes of Nathan Patterson, Bongani Zungu and Calvin Bassey missing and young Leon King in – but Rangers fans still felt they should have enough for another victory to keep their lead at the top of the table comfortable.

Scott Stibbs: “Four games to go for title #55, just off the back of another European success. Can you imagine what Ibrox would have been like with the fans inside?”

Craig Maxwell: “Let’s take another step towards what is going to be one of the best title wins ever.”

@kirkelwood2: “Can’t wait, take any win but better for my BP if we get couple early goals.”

Dennis Clark: “Thought Arfield might have came back in as his running ahead of the ball gives us another option. Manager knows best! Be good to get a fast aggressive performance with a strong scoreline but I will gladly take any win with another game ticked off the list.

@Thistledubhme: “I prefer Aribo in an attacking role, rather than a defensive role, but if that’s what the Gaffer is going with,it’s ok with me.”

@ggh1992: “Kamaradona on the bench.”

@ross_stoddart: “Come on Rangers! Start fast, get a few goals up and then utilise the bench - would like to see Simpson, Wright and Itten get some game time.”

@We_r_not_bk_yet: “Hoping Kent and Hagi get their creative juices flowing.”

@RangersSpares__: “Thought Balogun was good Thursday night. Miss Tav though.”

@92Rangers: “Balogun will be fine. Obviously a solid defender but also has great distribution and dribbling. Aribo, Hagi, Kent and Morelos is exciting.

@Kjfitzdude: “Good on Leon King getting into the squad, some players' loss could be his gain if he's hungry enough.”

Meanwhile @RobStewart79 joked: “What level of Mygers is Greg Stewart on? Gets into his seat every game, home and away, and gets to train with the players during the week.”
