Rangers players absent from PFA Team of the Year

RANGERS players are completely absent from the PFA Scotland Championship team of the year.

Six Hearts players and three Hibernian players make up the majority of the side - chosen by their fellow professionals - while Queen of the South forward Gavin Reilly and Falkirk striker Rory Loy, a former Rangers player, make up the side.

Celtic dominate the Premiership team of the year with six players - Craig Gordon, Shay Logan, Virgil van Dijk, Stuart Armstrong, Scott Brown and Stefan Johansen.

Aberdeen’s Shay Logan and Graeme Shinnie of Inverness occupy the full-back roles while the forward line comes from the three north-east clubs - Dundee United’s Nadir Ciftci joining player of the year candidates Adam Rooney and Greg Stewart.

The six Hearts players that made the Championship team are Neil Alexander, Alim Ozturk, Danny Wilson, Morgaro Gomis, Jamie Walker and Osman Sow with David Gray, Lewis Stevenson and Scott Allan getting in for Hibs.

Former Celtic goalkeeper Rab Douglas is the League One goalkeeper of the year at the age of 43 after helping Forfar’s title push.
