‘We’ve just got to approach game like it’s still 0-0’ says Templeton

DAVID Templeton believes the best way to approach the second leg of Hearts’ Europa League tie against Spurs tonight is to act as if the first leg never happened. After being part of the side which lost 5-0 to Harry Redknapp’s team a week ago, the winger knows that going in search of an overall victory would almost certainly be futile. Instead, he thinks he and his team-mates need to concentrate on the game as a one-off. “You’ve just got to go into as if it’s still 0-0, do our best and try and get a good result down here,” Templeton said. “I know it’s difficult when you’ve got to win 6-0, but we need to try and get some pride back.

“We conceded goals at the wrong times at Tynecastle and couldn’t get near them in the first half. They played some terrific football. We did a bit better in the second half, pressing them, and we had a couple of chances, but they scored at the right times again.

“This time we’ve got to try and pressure them and show people we’re a good side.”

Speaking as he looked out on to the White Hart Lane pitch, Templeton said he was looking forward to playing in such an arena. “It’s a great pitch for wingers – it’s perfect,” he added. “Hopefully I’ll get space to try and get at defenders which is what I like to do.”

lTottenham are 2-7 favourites to make it back-to-back victories over Hearts at White Hart Lane, with the Tynecastle side a best-priced 11-1 to salvage some pride with a second leg win after their 5-0 humiliation last week. The draw can be backed at 9-2. Corals offer 22-1 that Spurs will win 5-0 again.
