Here's how the 37 managers / head coaches prior to current boss Craig Levein have fared in the Hearts hotseat.
Alex Rennie, Peter Houston, Steven Pressley and John McGlynn, and Eugenijus Riabovas have been omitted due to their caretaker status. Although also a caretaker boss, Anatoliy Korobochka has been included as he took charge of 33 matches.
Won 9 of his 12 games in charge as Hearts started the 2005/06 season with a bang. Left by mutual consent after clashing with Vladimir Romanov
Led Hearts to the Scottish Championship title, and won 62 of his 106 games in charge giving him a 58.49% win rate
At the helm in the mid-1930s, Pratt won 40 games out of 68, giving him a 58% win rate
Five-time capped England international Moss took over from Pratt and nearly equalled his win rate. Spent more than four years in charge, winning 89 games out of 161 giving him a 55% win rate
At the helm for a total of 695 matches, Walker is Hearts' longest-serving manager. He won 383 matches leaving him with a win percentage of 55%
First of two spells broken up by illness. 14 wins from 28 gives him a 50% win rate in his first stint, including a Scottish Cup win over Gretna
After returning from illness, Ivanauskas took charge of 14 games, winning 7, giving him a win rating of... 50% again!
Peter Fairley took the reins in August 1901 and recorded 27 wins from 53 games along with 13 draws and 13 losses to give him a win rate of 50% by the time he left in July 1903
Succeeding Fairley, Waugh took charge of 164 matches, winning 79 of them. He left in April 1908 with a 48% win percentage
Led Hearts to second place in the Scottish top flight, and to two Scottish Cup semi-finals. Won 69 of his 143 games in charge to give him a win rate of 48%
George Burley's permanent successor lasted just 19 games, with 9 wins, 6 draws and 4 defeats before his departure in March 2006.
Spent close to a decade at the helm, winning 172 of his 365 games in charge. Stepped down six months after Hearts lost the 1919 Victory Cup final to former side St Mirren and was succeeded by son Willie
Won the Scottish Cup with East Fife in 1938 and later introduced the Terrible Trio to the world of Scottish football. Won 175 of his 372 games at the helm to give him a 47% win rate.
The first of three spells in the hotseat saw MacDonald win 111 of 232 games, giving him a win rate of 47%. Narrowly lost out on a league title in 1986 and lost the Scottish Cup final to Aberdeen days later
A joint manager arrangement produced 54 wins from 113 matches between November 1986 and November 1988
Arrived in August 1995, delivered a Scottish Cup win in 1998 and departed in November 2000 with 108 wins from 242 games and a 44.46% win rate
Succeeded Jefferies and lasted nearly four years, winning 74 of his 170 games in charge to produce a 43.53% win rate. Current win rate at the time of writing in his second spell in charge is 44.74%
