SPL Fanzone: Hearts

Hearts finally secured their first away win of the season in any competition on Saturday.

In truth, it was a dire game, not helped in any way by the very limited ambition of Dunfermline and the fussy refereeing from Mr O’Reilly, but the result was most welcome. At no point in the game did I think Dunfermline were likely to score and that speaks volumes for the job Sergio has done with the defence, but there seems to be a lack of tempo to our performances away from home that doesn’t make for entertaining football. However, the manager has had a good response from the players since the St Johnstone result and we go into this weekend’s game against Rangers in our best form of the season. We were slightly unfortunate not to leave Ibrox with all three points on the opening day, so if we can keep things tight at the back there is no reason we can’t get a win on this occasion.
