Kenny Anderson leaves Hearts by mutual consent
Anderson, whose father is Scottish, arrived on an 18-month contract from RKC Waalwijk last February and marked his Hearts debut with a goal in a 3-2 win at Livingston. However, he fell out of head coach Robbie Neilson’s plans after promotion to the Scottish Premiership was secured last May.
The 23-year-old was told during the summer that he was surplus to requirements and free to find a new club. He briefly trained at Livingston before returning to Hearts and has now been freed to continue his career elsewhere.
A brief statement on the Hearts website read: “Kenny Anderson has left Heart of Midlothian Football Club by mutual consent. The Dutch midfielder signed for the Jambos last February and made nine appearances in a maroon jersey, scoring one goal. The club thanks Kenny for his efforts and wishes him all the best in the future.”
