‘John McGlynn’s ideas weren’t working’

STEVE Kilgour, secretary of the Federation of Hearts Supporters Clubs, insists a change of manager was needed at Tynecastle to halt an alarming slide down the SPL.

“I think they had to act now,” he said. “Results speak for themselves and they were simply not good enough. If Dundee were not there then we would be in real trouble. The game against St Mirren was just terrible, especially the first half, and nobody could see where results were coming from. Whatever John’s ideas were, they were not working.”

Kilgour believes McGlynn will always have the gratitude of Hearts fans for the way he dealt with the dark financial days earlier this season. “There can be no doubt John has worked through a very difficult time,” said Kilgour.
