Hearts keep it traditional with new kit

HEARTS today unveiled a new home strip for season 2012/13 which is likely to prove hugely popular with the Tynecastle support as part of the club’s agreement with kit manufacturers Adidas.

The deep maroon shirt, as detailed in our picture, contains the trademark Adidas three stripes in white down its sleeves. Accompanying it are white shorts with maroon stripes, and also maroon socks with white stripes.

The blue logo of Wonga.com, Hearts’ principal sponsor, continues on the front of the home shirt following on from last season’s kit, which was manufactured by Umbro.

Fans are expected to buy the new strip in droves, as they did the away kit which Hearts launched earlier this month. Supporters wishing to be among the first to wear next season’s home kit can pre-order it now by visiting www.heartsdirect.co.uk or by dropping into the Hearts store on McLeod street to place an order in person.

Prices start from £31.99 for a child’s short sleeve shirt and £41.99 for an adult. Delivery will be Thursday, July 5, when the new kit officially goes on sale.

Meanwhile, Hearts were due to vote against the Creditors Voluntary Arrangement proposed by Rangers’ prospective owner Charles Green at a creditors’ meeting at Ibrox Stadium today. The outcome of the meeting has already been rendered academic because of Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs’ refusal to accept the CVA and Rangers will now be forced into liquidation.

Hearts are due £800,000 from Rangers as part of the £1.5million transfer of Lee Wallace last year. Next month, £500,000 is due to be paid, with the remainder due in July 2013. Hearts have pledged to do everything possible to recoup the money.
