Twenty-four seats have been made available at a cost of £3,250 plus VAT, and several have already been sold, with former directors Pilmar Smith and George Foulkes among the first to buy.
In addition to a seat at every home game, buyers of the packages get a champagne reception, a complimentary pre- and post-match bar and a buffet. They will also be allowed two guest invitations per season, and will have access to directors’ box tickets for two away games during the season.
Hearts have had no directors since administrators BDO got rid of Roman Romanov, Sergejus Fedotovas and Vitalijus Vasiliauskas in June. With many other parts of Tynecastle close to capacity after a surge in season-ticket sales, the club’s commercial department came up with the idea of selling what would otherwise have been empty seats in the Main Stand.
The first competitive match of the season at Tynecastle is next Sunday’s derby with Hibs.
