Hearts player ratings: Hibs' main tormentor scores an 8 but underperformer gets a 5
Robbie Neilson’s men looked on course for the three points when Lawrence Shankland fired them ahead in the 22nd minute following an exquisite pass from Barrie McKay, with Hibs struggling to find a way back into the game.
The visitors held on until the last kick of the ball when Martin Boyle, making his first Hibs appearance following his return from Saudi Arabia, came off the bench to turn home an Elie Youan cross and rescue a point for the home side.
Neilson said: “We’re very disappointed. I thought we were outstanding and dominated the game. Credit to Hibs to get a point off a performance we played so well in.
"Second half if we take two or three of those chances it’s a different story but we have to take it on the chin.”
The result leaves both sides on four points from the opening two fixtures in the cinch Premiership this season.

5. Alex Cochrane - 6
Hit by an object thrown from the east stand as he took a throw-in in the second half and was briefly felled. Carried on and resumed an effective and busy performance, handling the positional change from left back to left wingback with minimum of fuss until the late burst by Boyle. 6 Photo: Ross Parker - SNS Group

6. Alan Forrest - 6
Replaced by Atkinson just after hour mark but had played his part. Played in a dangerous ball for Shankland at the start of the second period but the striker was unable to direct the ball past Marshall. Always busy. 6 Photo: Mark Scates - SNS Group

7. Peter Haring - 6
Patrolled the centre of the park in his usual committed fashion and kept everything moving. Booked late on for foul on Martin Boyle. 6 Photo: Ross Parker - SNS Group

8. Jorge Grant - 5
Sclaffed a chance wide at the start of the second half and particularly poor at set pieces. He wasted as many as six or seven. Dug a good shot out of his feet after 72 minutes which almost caught Marshall out. Replaced in latter stages by Devlin. 5 Photo: Mark Scates - SNS Group
